Purple, Purple, and MORE Purple!

As you guys who read my blog know I got one of the $200 Julep Maven Mystery boxes.  I couldn’t wait to actually use my polishes plus I have a fancy function tonight so I made my nails look lovely.

The base coat for all my nails except my ring finger is Juleps Gayle, I think this may be one of my new favorite colors.  These were opaque in two coats the only real problem was the brush that came with it.  It was so wonky and crazy I think it’s just a bad brush because all the others were normal.  My ring finger is Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Purple Haste that nail took three coats to be opaque.  My middle finger has Love & Beauty by Forever 21 on it, it doesn’t have a name and after looking at the website I can’t really tell which one it is.  The dots on my index are done with Essie She’s Picture Perfect and the dots on my pinkie are Essie Sure Shot.
All in all I really like how these look and I think they’re going to be really nice for my night out tonight.  Oh and I also used Julep Basecoat and Fast Dry Topcoat on all my nails, since I haven’t taken this polish off yet we’ll see how the basecoat does with staining and what not.  The topcoat could be a little shinier I need to toss it on a few more manicures to be sure.
Well until next time!

August Mystery Box (YAY for tons of stuff!)

My day just got super duper awesome!  So everyone knows that this month Julep Maven did one of their Mystery Boxes;  I actually opted out of the August box this month.  So I was like hey I got an extra 20 bucks why not snag a mystery box.

To my delight I’m pretty sure I ended up with one of the $200 boxes!  It came with ten nail polishes: Fast Dry Topcoat, Basecoat, Maya, Jodie, Reese, Gayle, Audrey (I already have this one L) , Jennifer, Gwyneth, and Catherine.  I also received the Julep Reveal Nail Growth Revitalizing Serum and both Pomegranate Body Crème and Scrub.  All in all this is not too shabby a box.  I can’t wait to try out many of my polishes plus I did need new top and basecoats.

My son wanted to help me unbox it.

So many goodies!

Anyway after talking about all my goodies I should show y’all some nails, after all it is my favorite thing to do.  Yesterday I stopped at the store and picked up OPI’s Ger-minis set and I’ve been so into the cloud mani this week that I redid it with them.

This came out very dark and broody I love it!  The colors show much more outside in the sun.  I ended up using Nein! Nein! Nein! Ok Fine!, Unfor-gretably Blue, and Suzi & the 7 Dusseldorfs.  If you’re looking for a subtle beautiful look for your nails this is perfect.  Until next time!

Clouds

I was perusing blogs the other day and saw the cloud mani on Nailside and was like I got to try that.

I think it came out very pretty (excuse the pictures they were taken in the car).  The polishes used are Essie She’s Picture Perfect, Lime Crime Peaches<3Cream, and Sally Hansen’s Insta-Dri Purple Haste.  I basically did my base coat then did three swipes of each color on the tips; it was actually pretty simple and I love this color combination together.  This might be my new favorite manicure it came out so cute.
I apologize for my posts being so far apart lately I have just been working a lot.  Anyway it’s late so I’m calling it a night until next time.

Freeze!

OMG I have been beyond busy these past few days and it’s only going to get worse hopefully I can actually post more because I would really like to.
Anyway I ran to Walgreens yesterday in search of the Wet N Wilds Saved by the Bell collection, two Walgreens down and no luck.  But of course I can’t leave empty handed, oh no no no, I bought two polishes Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Freeze! and Purple Haste.  They are their new shades for their Fall 2012 Collection.  I have to say that I tried Freeze! last night and it’s a real beauty.

It’s so sparkly and blue it catches the light from every single angle possible I love it, plus it is jam packed with glass flecks if you’re a fan of that!  The one down fall to this polish is it will stain the crud out of your nails, cuticles, and pretty much anything it comes in contact with.  But at least it made me be very smooth with my polish application.  In the pictures I did two coats, I think it could actually use a third because you can almost see my nail line.  And excuse the flub on the edge of my ring finger after I had cleaned everything up and put things away I banged it on the table L.

Anyway thanks for reading!

Pebbles

Today I got out my stamper and plates and decided I wanted to go to town on my Lime Crime nails from yesterdays post.  I chose to use Wet N Wilds Black Crème. It stamps pretty well and a lot of people praise it as almost being as good as or even better than Konad Black.  I don’t have any Konad Black to compare to, yet, but when I try to stamp things that are solid designs, and not intricate, the Wet N Wild would be way too transparent.  Anyway here are my beauties.

This design is a pretty pebble, kinda cobblestone design.  I used bundle monster plate (BM-211) and it stamped very well in my opinion.  As I’ve said before I’m not a pro stamper; I’ve only had my plates for maybe two months and stamping really doesn’t have that big of a learning curve so I’d say I’m a novice, maybe?
 Here's a picture of the plate I used. (BM-211)

I like it and hope you like it too! If you're interested in the polishes I used read my previous post "Taste the Rainbow."  If you have any questions or comments or maybe any tips on what you think the best black polish is for stamping drop me a line.  Until tomorrow, catch you on the flip side.
